It’s been a while since I’ve written here and truthfully, that’s a reflection of life’s rhythm. The business of being a photographer isn’t always about clicking the shutter. Sometimes, it’s about pausing, reassessing, and finding your way back to the heart of why you do what you do.
Today, this sweet baby boy is turning one.
And I still remember the quiet of my studio the day I photographed him as a newborn—just a few days old, wrapped up snug and sleepy, surrounded by love.
This session was a special one for me. Not just because of the beautiful memories we created that day, but because this is the third precious newborn I’ve photographed for this family. I've been telling their story for years, watching them go from three, to four, to now five. That is such a privilege to be invited back each time to document a new chapter.

We started this session in my studio with those classic, posed portraits. Simple, calm, and focused entirely on baby. These are the images that end up framed on the wall and passed down through generations. They freeze time in a way nothing else can.
Later, is when the REAL magic happened. A few days later, we all met at their home for a relaxed lifestyle session with the whole family. Big sisters included! There’s something so genuine about photographing a newborn surrounded by their siblings, in the space they’ll grow up in. The giggles, the little messes, the unposed snuggles. This is real authentic life, and it’s always beautiful.
Now, a year later, that tiny newborn is blowing out his first birthday candle. And I can’t help but think how quickly it all passes.
Whether you’re expecting your first, adding to your family, or looking back at those early days with nostalgia, it’s never too soon (or too late) to document the love in your home. Posed or lifestyle, or both, these photos and the memories we create become part of your story.
And I’d be honoured to be the Edmonton newborn photographer to help you tell it.
If you’re ready to plan your session, you can get in touch via the contact form, or view more of my work.
Thanks for being here. 💛
