Christy Wells Photography specializes in capturing the precious moments of your newborn's early days. Located in southwest Edmonton, our studio offers a warm and safe environment, ensuring that every photo session is relaxed and memorable. With years of experience, these are some of the most often asked questions and tips I have about newborn photography to help guide you through the process to achieve stunning portraits.
When should I book my session?
Sessions fill up extremely quickly! I accept a limited number of sessions per month and often book at least 2-3 months in advance. If you are expecting, I recommend booking during your second trimester to secure your session.
What style of newborn photography do you offer?
Studio posed, studio lifestyle, and at-home newborn photography sessions, I specialize in all types of newborn photography. Which one is right for you depends on personal style choice and preference. You can see examples of each here on our newborn gallery.
When will my session happen? Do you work evenings and weekends?
Newborn photos normally occur when baby is 14 days and younger. These sessions are typically scheduled during the late morning into the early afternoon. They studio is open for these on Thursday, Friday, and Sundays. For family and maternity sessions these typically occur either weekday or weekend evenings (the time varies depending on the season).
My baby is already born/over 14 days old, and I didn't book photos! What do I do now?
Don't panic, but contact me right away! Sometimes I do have schedule changes at the last minute, and there is a possibility I can fit you in. I have experience working with 'newborns' older than the typical 14 days, so don't worry.
Where is your studio located?
My newborn photography studio is located in southwest Edmonton.
What does my session fee include?
The session fee pays for the planning of your session, props, my time and talent during the session, as well as post-production and editing. Your session fee does not include any high or low-resolution digital photos.
How much can I expect to spend?
Typically clients invest between $700 to $1300 on their session.
