Oh, sweet little Alistair...he was a couple of months old when I first meet him for his 'newborn photos'. He lives in Calgary and was born in the middle of February, and I waited until spring to travel those icy Alberta highways from Edmonton to first visit him (I'm kinda a scaredy-cat driver in the winter despite living in Edmonton all my life). I was welcomed into his home, and spent time with him, his parents, and his big brother Ollie. His nursey was exquisite, quite literally a photographer's dream to photograph. No detail was left undone when it was decorated by his Mom, who happens and one of my dearest and oldest friends.
Of course, all of this happened about four years ago now. It was a moment in time that was captured through my lens as I made these photographs. Now Alistair is now running around keeping his parents busy, talking about dinosaurs and so much more. And very soon, this little family is moving from this house. They are starting a new chapter in a new home, still in Calagary as I have yet to convince them to move back to Edmonton. But as this chapter closes, I thought it would be a fun trip down memory lane for them today. A moment to look back and to remember, that is the power of photography.
